Terms of Service

Welcome to DrawItFast! By using this website, you agree to the following terms.

What DrawItFast is: DrawItFast is a free daily drawing game. Every day there's a new challenge, you draw it in 60 seconds, and others vote on the results. There are no ads and no premium features.

Age requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use this service. This is required by international child safety regulations including COPPA and GDPR provisions for minors. If you are under 13, please do not use this website.

Your drawings: You own everything you draw. By submitting a drawing, you grant DrawItFast a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and share your drawings on the platform and for promotional purposes (such as social media posts or share previews). This license is necessary for the game to function.

Prohibited content: Do not submit drawings that contain sexually explicit material, hate speech, graphic violence, harassment, content targeting real individuals, or any other material that could reasonably be considered harmful or offensive. Drawings that violate these rules will be removed.

Account suspension: If your drawings receive 3 or more justified content violation reports (each reviewed by our team before action is taken), your account may be suspended. If you believe a suspension was unjustified, you can contact us at the email listed below.

Account deletion: You can request account deletion at any time from your Settings page. We process deletion requests within 30 calendar days. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your personal data and drawings will be erased.

Availability: DrawItFast is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the game running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site.

Changes to these terms: We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.

Privacy Policy

This policy applies to all users of DrawItFast, regardless of location. Because DrawItFast is operated from within the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to all data processing activities. We also respect the privacy rights granted by other applicable laws worldwide.

Data we collect:

  • Account data: Email address, username (nickname), and password (stored securely hashed with bcrypt — we never see or store your actual password).
  • Drawings: Your drawing stroke data (stored as coordinates, not images) and a small thumbnail preview.
  • Votes and reports: Which drawings you voted on and any reports you submitted.
  • Cookies: Essential session cookies, optional functional cookies, and analytics cookies (detailed below).
  • Server logs: Your IP address is recorded in standard web server logs for security purposes. We do not store IP addresses in our application database.
  • Analytics data: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, session duration, general geographic region, device type). This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. Google Analytics uses its own cookies (see cookie list below).

Why we collect data:

  • Account data: to let you log in, display your username, and manage your profile.
  • Drawings and votes: to make the game work.
  • Server logs: for security and abuse prevention.
  • Analytics data: to understand how the site is used, identify issues, and improve the experience for everyone.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR): Consent (you voluntarily create an account, submit drawings, and accept cookies via the cookie consent banner), and legitimate interest (security, abuse prevention, and service improvement through analytics).

Data sharing: We do not sell or rent your personal data. Data is shared only with the following service providers, strictly for the purposes described:

  • Google Analytics: Receives anonymized usage data to generate traffic reports. Google's privacy policy applies to data they process.

No other third parties receive your data.

Data retention:

  • Registered user drawings: kept for up to 1 year, then automatically deleted. Award-winning drawings (daily top 3) are kept permanently as part of the game's archive.
  • Guest drawings: automatically deleted after 3 days.
  • Account data: kept until you request deletion.
  • Server logs: retained for up to 90 days by our hosting provider.
  • Analytics data: retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings (14 months).

Cookies:

  • drawitfast_session: Essential. Manages your login session. Expires after 2 hours of inactivity or when you close the browser.
  • XSRF-TOKEN: Essential. Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks. Expires after 2 hours.
  • guest_artist_id: Functional. Stores your anonymous guest identity so you keep the same name across visits. Expires after 1 year.
  • guest_artist_name: Functional. Stores your displayed guest name. Expires after 1 year.
  • theme: Functional. Stores your light/dark theme preference. Expires after 1 year.
  • remember_web_*: Functional. Enables the "remember me" login feature. Expires after 7 days.
  • _ga, _ga_*: Analytics. Set by Google Analytics to distinguish users and sessions. Expires after 2 years.
  • _gid: Analytics. Set by Google Analytics to distinguish users. Expires after 24 hours.

Analytics cookies are only set after you provide consent via the cookie consent banner.

Your rights: Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Correct inaccurate data. You can update your username and avatar directly in Settings.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data. Available in Settings, or by emailing us.
  • Restriction: Request that we limit how your data is processed.
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to how your data is being processed.
  • Cookie consent withdrawal: You can change your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie consent banner.

Children: DrawItFast is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. This age restriction exists because international regulations (including COPPA in the United States and GDPR provisions for minors in the European Union) require special protections for children's data that go beyond what a simple drawing game can reasonably implement. If you believe someone under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Security: We use HTTPS encryption for all connections, bcrypt password hashing, CSRF protection, input validation, rate limiting, and content security policies to protect your data. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable and appropriate measures to keep your information safe.
